The most practical way to come is, like most places, by motorway. In our case this means by the A20, exit number 44 Uzerhe/Lubersac.

Warning: when approaching from the south and knowing that one is going eventually to Pompadour, many people take exit 45 as that is where the sign for Pompadour indicates. This is a mistake, as it leads through very twisted, often narrow roads which are difficult enough in a car and often dangerous with a horse trailor or lorry. It is therefore much better to take exit 44.

Immediately after the exit from the motorway is a roundabout. Take the direction Lubersac, which is to the right. In the square in Lubersac turn left and follow the direction, Pompadour at the next roundabout, which is straight over. Keep straight on towards Pompadour and you will find the village of La Pouège at the top of a hill. Follow along a straight which is some 200 metres or so and Les Gallets With it’s Chambres d’hôtes sign is on the left just after a slight curve to the right.

We therefore recommend the motorway as the safest and most convenient route to take, no matter which direction you are coming from :

1n0o North, (direction Paris) A20 Limoges exit 44
1n0o South, (direction Toulouse) A20 Brive exit 44 (not 45 see warning above)
1n0o East, (direction Clermont Ferrand) A89, change to A20 at St Germaine les Vergne direction Paris, Limoges. Exit 44 (not 45, see warning above)
1n0o West, (direction Bordeaux) A89, change to A20 at Brive direction Paris/Limoges. Exit 44 (niot 45, see warning above)

The cluster of buildings that make the property of Les Gallets is quite obviously an old farm. The house itself is set back, even hidden from the road, between barns and other outbuildings. Along the road, there is a large stone wall frontage between two of these buildings and the wall itself is built in a large curve, with double gates in the middle, so as to give plenty of room to pull in off of the main road.

To acces the boxes, there is a pair of gates leading into the paddock and a small side entrance leading off of an unmetalled passage, both of these are are on the Lubersac side of the property and provide safe loading/unloading areas.
