Especially
constructed for the convenience of riders in the competitions in nearby
Pompadour, the three boxes are next to the B&B where the riders are staying.
The fact that they have been made with competitions in mind, does not mean
however that they are not available for other purposes and riders or drivers of
every classification are equally welcome.
Housed
in the newest of the barns, the boxes measure three metres by three metres, with
rendered block walls to a height of one metre fifty, surmounted by metal grills
to a total height of two metres twenty.
Outside the building is a small paddock with it’s own horse shower. The boxes are
accessed by way of a sliding door, which is lockable for security, which leads
into a passage in front of the boxes. The boxes themselves have individual wood
panelled and metal framed doors, which open into the passage and are closed by a
double latch system, which secures the middle and bottom of each door. There is
a window across the passage to each box which gives good natural light and
artificial lighting by neon strip.
There are no mangers or drinking bowls inside the boxes as these are sometimes seen as
an unnecessary hazard. However, water is on tap at the end of the passage and
there is a small bolted door providing access for feeding at the back of each
box. There are plastic buckets and tyres as well as plastic detachable mangers
available if required.
